Grab your readers’ attention with eye-catching content

This doesn’t mean that your content has to be all in pink flashy lettering and fonts, but that it is easier on the eye and more inviting to read than a big block of text.

What it does mean is that you should take advantage of your return key, by making smaller, more concise paragraphs. This will help your reader in skimming through them to find which paragraph contains the information they need.

Another way to catch the eye is by using bullet pointed lists. Not only is this visually effective, but also shows what you want to say in as fewer words as possible.

Bullet points allow you to be:

• Concise
• Neat
• Well structured
• Informative
• Objective

Not having bullet points can lead to your text being overwritten. This means that you will use too many words when just a few will suffice, you may become unfocused and begin writing about unrelated events or topics.

Instead of – or as well as – bulleted lists, you can use subtitles so that your readers can see the section differences straight away.

Catching your readers’ attention is very important to your site, as you are more likely to find customers. If your blogs are too long-winded and boring, those readers will click away from your site and just go somewhere else instead.
