Tinker.com – A new micro-blogging network ready for launch in the UK
Glam media, the operator and owner of the women’s website network Glam.com has announced the launch of an advertisement funded micro-blogging network called Tinker.com. Tinker.com has been designed to look very similar to Twitter and is expected to capitalise on the immense popularity of the social networking site.
Tinker.com has already been launched in the US in May and will be available for use in the UK within a few months time. Initially a launched as a trial version, the website will gauge its success before fully launching.
Although Tinker has been formatted on the lines of Twitter, no profit sharing deals have been struck yet. Tinker will allow live conversation like Twitter but will not exhibit the top ten subjects of conversation as is visible in Twitter. Instead, the users have to select an area of interest to follow real time conversations that are taking place on the subject.
The publishers and users of Tinker will be allowed to post, create and share real time Tinker streams that will be live on their blogs, websites and social networking profiles.
