The popularity of online shopping increases

A countless number of people have benefitted from the introduction of the internet, and people of all ages use it for many reasons. Most modern homes possess computers and an internet connection due to how affordable this sort of technology has become. Some people take advantage of this advanced technology for work-related purposes, whilst others use the internet for entertainment and shopping.

With the introduction of online shopping, many people now choose to buy products over the internet rather than in high-street shops. Focusing on the potential offered by search engines, new research, from the Luxury Institute’s Wealth Survey, has revealed the following:

• More than three quarters of wealthy US shoppers utilise the services of various search engines to find the products and services they want.
• Affluent consumers conduct an average of 14 searches on search engines every day.
• Nine out of ten consumers have bought something online at some point, and therefore choose to buy things online again.

In terms of getting the best deal, the survey also found that:

• 78% consumers use search engines to find the best price online
• 77% of consumers compare brands online
• 72% look for products review only

Wealthy consumers used search engines the most in order to make travel-related purchases, but information related to entertainment, local business and electronics was also widely searched for.
