Google Goggles for Searchers on the move

An increasing number of people are choosing to perform searches on Google with their mobile phones rather than with their PCs, bringing more and more attention to SEO for mobile searches.

Google are trying to make this experience even easier for users with the introduction of Google Goggle. Google Goggle is available for android devices and allows people to perform a search on the internet by taking a picture of the item they want to search for, on their mobile phone.

To use Google Goggle, just take a snap in left landscape of the item, or landscape you want to search for, and hit the shutter button on the screen.

At present, the searches performed using Google Goggle perform better with photos of items such as books, landmarks and logos, but if this type of search proves popular, I have no doubt that more investment will be put into making this tool even more powerful.

These types of photo searches are ideal for situations in which words alone are not enough to describe the search with which you want to perform.

In addition to this, it appears that Google are utilising androids even further by developing search by location. It will be a case of ‘watch this space’ to find out if these types of searches take off.
