Facebook & MySpace To Join?

Mashable are reporting of a possible merger between MySpace & Facebook this evening at around 8pm GMT. The invite Mashable and others have received states:

“Please join us for an invitation-only announcement by Mike Jones, CEO of Myspace, and Dan Rose, VP of Partnerships and Platform Marketing, Facebook. Tune in Thursday, November 18 at 12:00 pm PST”

We agree with Mashable who state that the biggest clue as to what the announcement will be is that of Facebook’s attendee; Dan Rose, VP of Partnerships and Platform Marketing.

MySpace have recently overhauled the whole of their site – giving it a more professional, almost last.fm look and removing all of the ‘tacky’ designs of the late 90′s. The move is sure to be a hit with musicians and artists who still actively use the site to promote themselves.
